“Shaw” Park Bench Fabrication

Design by Sheridan College Industrial Design students and Fig40 industrial design studio. This is an innovative park bench system sponsored by Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS), making use of moulded crumb rubber from recycled vehicle tires in Ontario. Kevin Karst Design Inc. recommended thermally modified ash timber for all wood components, and fabricated the first batch of wood for five benches. This bench was exhibited at the 2017 Construct Canada trade show in Toronto.
